The progress I made has consisted of developing specific design ideas and adjusting them to be appealing to the market. For example, when creating the glasses lens shape, I shifted from the quartefoil lens to it being a quatrefoil colored design on a different colored lens. I solidified two other lens shapes including a rectangular style and a circular. The designs on the sides of the glasses are still a work in progress as I have currently designed four but still finalizing the colors and drawing concepts. I attached the sketches that I have made so far.

The next steps for me in class will likely be figuring out the best way to present the glasses. I will be working on the catalog format and be deciding how best to target my audience. I have look at other glasses websites and magazine and sorted what I do want to be in mine and how I want mine to be different.

I am planning on making an infographic providing information regarding maternal/fetal health. Deaths related to pregnancy is the leading cause of death in females ages 15-19 so I want to provide information targeting to this age group. I will focus on providing information on nutrition and exercise and important information about doctors visits including things to ask your doctor. I want this to be a fun yet informative interactive piece to reach the target audience and provide helpful information.

So far, I have found all the information I want to include. I am working on planning the design elements of how exactly I want it to look and how to make it interactive.

Since my proposal, I have done research into the symbolism of decorum in renaissance portraiture. I have researched symbolism for eyes especially, discovering the meaning of certain birds, plants, and saints that can help with references to poor sight. I have also sketched my portrait. While waiting for supplies to come in, I am making a grid of lines to prepare for the actual embroidery stage, drawing outlines with a single line and creating shading with crosshatching. After receiving my final supply, I will begin the embroidery and add a background referencing the details of life that I could only see with my glasses,

I have started to put my ideas into my computer with illustrator to see the type of shapes I want to use and if it will work together on the computer. As I was making more sketches and my Pinterest board I realized I want to try to create the letters with different important buildings in Florence. The word I am currently using is "Serene" which is how Florence makes me feel. I am working with lines so hopefully, I will be able to figure out the p5 animation of what I am thinking. I am hoping the grid on illustrator will help me with the p5 program, which I'm still not positive I will be using. I kept the scaffolding idea that will be involved in the typography. I attached some very rough sketches and what I am working within the computer right now.

Rights now I am working on two parts of my project. The branding for the watch company itself and also the watch face design. For the watch company I have decided to use my families last name initial to be the logo or identity for the company. I have images of how that is coming. I want it to be rather simple. To begin I have started in black and white I am still unsure if I will be using color for the final. For the face of the watch I have used inspiration from the Duomo to design some faces of the watch. I have not worked with the numbers just yet so that will be my next step.

I have decided to create a scene of Ponte Vecchio at night, including things like a guard checking the shops, and in future projects, ambient city noise and more interactable elements. So far, I have begun adapting the code for the walking character to my sprites of the guard. I don't want the character to be controlled by the user, just them as a walking character to observe (like an NPC) so I have been working to make tweaks to the code to accommodate that. I have finished the sprite board and used an online program to show it as an animation to get an idea as to how it will look. I'll attach send you a video of the animation because it won't let me attach it here, as well as reference images for the background because at this point I'm not sure how that needs to look with the stationary character and moving background.

For this project I have started bringing my sketches into illustrator as well as continued my research. I have started recreating some iconic imagery of this important to myself and my famil and began to plan out the spatial allocation of my window. Below is a screenshot of my illustrator screen as well as some pattern inspiration from various stained glass windows. My current research is focusing on my family's countries of origin and learning about their flags and other historical aspects to possibly include.

I for this project I wanted to combine the idea of the maze of the city that connects all of the side streets to the open areas of the piazzas with the different paths everyone in my family is on yet we are still connected at the center like a maze. I want this to be the background of my family crest with some themes that connect us and the interactive piece being the maze changing paths like the example posted. below is one of the sketches i made as an example.

For my project, I sketched the foreground of my self portrait, which is a recreation of Botticelli's primavera with my face in the place of Primavera's face. Going forward, I am going to sketch the background separately. I have scanned the foreground (and will scan the background) and have uploaded it to Krita, so that I can complete it digitally. Through Krita, I will paint over the sketches to add color.
